Anna Utopia Giordano, a female Italian artist, has digitally sliced and diced some great images of voluptuous nudes from the past to make them into a more idealistic 21st century vision of skin and bones - what many consider to be the image of perfection and ultimate beauty. Her images are actually quite shocking as she reveals the modern attitude towards the ideal female form. The difference between the past painter's images of Venus, seen as the most beautiful women in mythology, and the miniature visions of skin and bones that is supposedly 'beautiful' these days is actually quite worrying.
It will be easier to see the images if you click on them and scroll through them by using the thumbnails along the bottom.
I think it's important for us all to ask ourselves which four of the eight images above we prefer the look of.
