So X-Factor is over, and once again we have ourselves some pretty unworthy winners, who, as usual, will probabaly get Christmas No.1 because of all the kids that voted for them. (I find it hard to believe anyone over the age of 14 voted for them - they look like alternative barbies!) Only one of them can really sing: the others look like woodland creatures and definitely cannot sing in comparison to a few of the performers who were voted out earlier on in the competition. I'm talking about Janet Devlin, Misha B and Amelia Lily, who was kicked out at the semi-final, to my annoyance.
It probably has something to do with the fact that all three of them are too talented for the show, as they actually brought something a little different, as opposed to their samey, standard X-Factor rivals. Janet's audition singing Elton John's 'Your Song' was beautiful. It was like that song was written for her to sing it, with her adorable little accent shining through at certain points. Misha B doesn't even need words - she was given amazing feedback from the beginning until chavvy judge, Tulisa, started talking nonsense about bullying or whatever. I think it's ridiculous that someone's past can have an effect on how well they do in a singing competition. The two things arn't related, and I think most kids have been accused of bullying others at school anyway. As if Tulisa wasn't a complete thug when she was younger. As for Amelia Lily, I have no idea why she went. She is far better than Marcus or Lil Mix in every way, and it's gonna take a very strong believer in either of the 2 finalists to convince me that Amelia Lily shouldn't have been the one to win out of the 3 semi-finalists.
The good news is the winners of X-Factor normally don't do as well as the runners up. I feel we'll be hearing from all three of my favourites in the not too distant future.
The single 'Canonball', originally written by a talented artist who has an ability to write songs and not badly regurgitate them in order to gain popularity, is out this week. Is anyone excited? No because they have slaughtered a genuinely heartfelt song by Damien Rice.
